SEPTEMBER WAS A BUSY MONTH!
I did not read quite as many books this month because we drove to Wyoming to celebrate birthdays! It was a wonderful trip.
However it's also good to be back home.
My five star reviews are few and far between
but I thought these books deserved it!
September is a big month for publishing! Lots of picture books -
most of them are new!
Beginning chapter book
Adult and YA
Murder at Mallowan Hall by Colleen Cambridge
What if there was a murder at Agatha Christie's estate? And what if her head housekeeper tried to help Scotland Yard solve it? I initially thought this one was predictable - it was not. The second one will be published soon and I am looking forward to reading it!
Grave Reservations by Cherie Priest
A psychic travel agent saves a Seattle policeman from an airplane mishap by changing his flights. That begins an intriguing relationship as he asks for her insights into a cold case he is investigating - which also helps bring closure to the murder of her fiance. If the idea of Klairvoyant Karaoke sounds enticing, this is the book for you! Eagerly anticipating #2!
While traveling, we listen to audiobooks. Hiaasen is a favorite author and my favorite character is Skink, the former Florida governor turned eco-guardian. But Andrew Yancy has his own quirky charms. There are only two in the series so far. Hopefully there will be a third. I want the Key West PD to restore his badge!
